What does AFK mean in GTA Online?

In GTA Online, the acronym AFK stands for "Away From Keyboard," indicating that a player is not actively controlling their in-game character because they're temporarily not at their computer or console. In the context of this multiplayer online environment, an AFK player may be seen standing idly in the game world, vulnerable to various in-game risks such as being attacked by other players or removed from sessions for inactivity. Some players also intentionally go AFK in safe spaces to passively earn in-game rewards or avoid session kick timers when they need to step away from the game for short periods.
