What is the story behind Philo Taylor Farnsworth's invention of the television?

Philo Taylor Farnsworth, a pioneer in the field of electronic television, made substantial contributions to the invention of the television when he was just a young inventor. Born on August 19, 1906, Farnsworth showed early signs of brilliance and a penchant for electrical engineering. The story behind his key invention dates back to when he was only 14 years old; while plowing a potato field in straight, parallel lines, he envisioned an idea for transmitting images in a similar manner. This concept evolved into his development of the image dissector camera tube and other apparatuses. In 1927, Farnsworth succeeded in transmitting the first electronic television image, which was simply a straight line. He later demonstrated for the press in 1928 and continued to refine his technology.
